Engineering News-Record recently published its Top 500 Design Firms list. Coming in at its highest ranking in the history of the firm, ms moved up 41 spots to 214! Each year, Engineering News-Record ranks engineering and architecture firms from across the nation based on their performance from the previous year. 2015 was a busy time for ms staff. With the hard work of employees in all nine office locations, we were able to close out another successful year. Below are some highlights that paved the way for having one of the best years to date.
2015 Highlights
- An Award Winning Project
John R. Doutt Upground Reservoir received multiple awards in 2015, including accolades from ACEC National, ACEC Ohio, Ohio Society of Professional Engineers, and Water and Wastes Digest. The 9.3 billion gallon reservoir includes the largest synthetic-lined reservoir in the nation.

ms Raleigh Transportation Services Expanded
Not only did ms Raleigh add a Roadway Design Group, but the office also kicked off three NCDOT bridge rehabilitations. Having a home in the area since 1999, the transportation group service offerings include traffic design, bridge design, structural engineering, and construction services.

Making Strides Against Cancer
With goals to improve their health and their community, employees enlisted in the annual pedometer challenge. Not only was the goal met and a $10,000 donation given to the American Cancer Society, but employees walking enough steps during the program to circle the Earth twice!

Upgrading Ohio Parks
In conjunction with the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District, ms began work on more than 300 capital projects totaling more than $160 million. These improvements, including accommodation upgrades, addition of cabin neighborhoods, marina improvements, new park activities, and more, will be made to six Ohio parks over the next five years.

Making Downtown Columbus More Accessible
This new downtown storage facility provides a little bit of everything. ms is providing architectural design and MEP services for the new 73,000+ square foot building, which includes storage space, retail space, offices, and wine storage.

Staying Healthy
The 2015 wellness program received two awards for the involvement and commitment of employees across all office locations. HealthyOhio and Columbus Business First recognized the achievements of the wellness program, which included weight loss, increased physical activity, and healthier eating habits.
