What sets ms apart from other engineering & architecture firms?
From a mechanical engineering perspective, getting to work on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical drawings all at the same time as a single designer is amazing! It’s such a wonderful learning opportunity and makes for well-rounded engineers. It helps develop an understanding of the work that goes into each discipline and makes for more mindful designing.
What inspires you, inside or outside of work?
My community inspires me! At work, seeing my coworkers work hard and become the best versions of themselves makes me want to improve. At home, I take every opportunity to help my neighbors with big and small tasks. Watching us all grow and come together makes me proud to live in the neighborhood.
If you weren’t an MEP engineer, what would you be doing?
I would adapt toys! I worked with the Toy Adaptation Program during my time at Ohio State and had the most fun doing it. It opened my eyes to a whole new side of engineering, and I would love to do it full-time. Check out this article 10TV did on adapting toys!
What were your favorite hobbies as a kid? Do they mimic what you do today?
Playing with my stuffed animals was my favorite thing as a kid, and now I sew stuffed toys in my spare time! I love seeing the little animals come to life, and gifting them to my friends and family is always rewarding. I’ve learned a lot of useful sewing skills too, and I’ve met many other amazing sewing hobbyists who’ve helped me develop my skills.
